Friend For Daisy Results

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009
The results have been in for quite sometime now about how the proceeds from last years Friend For Daisy Event were used to benefit others.  While cleaning up this weekend we came across two things we wanted to share with everyone.
The inspiration behind A Friend for Daisy was to purchase a medical teaching puppet for the All Children’s Specialty Clinic in Tampa.  In August, 2008 we received a letter from the clinic that they had welcomed Donald into the family and how much he means to the patients at the clinic.

Not only were we able to purchase Donald, who you’ve seen already and read about, but we were also able to provide the financial support to the Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.  The financial assistance provided to the Hospital will allow one of their ITP patients to attend Camp Charley this October.  Camp Charley is a once-in-a-lifetime camp experience for seriously ill children held at the Center for Courageous Kids in Kentucky.  You can find out more by visiting the Charley Foundation

Through our journey with ITP, we met Jaxen who is a patient at the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.  Here is the picture of Jaxen presenting the check from Clouds of Hope to the Child Life Specialist at the Hospital.

Introducing Daisy’s new friend…Donald!

Friday, July 18th, 2008

We are so excited that Donald has arrived and we are planning a fun welcoming party at the Clinic within the next couple of weeks.

Thank you to all who made this dream a reality for Allie and for Clouds of Hope.  We are excited that this is just the beginning of new and exciting things to come!

A Friend for Daisy

Friday, April 18th, 2008

WOW!!!! Not only will Daisy have a new friend, other organizations will be helped as well. We far exceeded our goal!!!!

Thank you to all of you who prayed, came and supported A Friend for Daisy. What an incredible day and a great way to reach out to our community. The word success is an understatement!

We cannot say thank you enough. There were lots of pictures taken. Our Clouds of Hope website is in the process of being developed. As soon as we can, we will post some pictures. You can check out the work in progress – www.cloudsofhope.org. (Thanks Joe and Liz!)

We had a great raffle and silent auction set up for the event – many thanks to Suzanne Beville and her family for all of their hard work and dedication. A lot of people got a lot of great stuff! It was great!

The Bake Sale was incredible – thanks to our Sarasota family for heading that up and being diligent workers! They were very prepared and had tons of delicious baked goods!

The Art Gallery was also a hit! We still have some pots left over, we are trying to figure out what to do with them…

The Chris Kuti Band was great – Allie loved it! She was a groupie on the front row. There was also an incredible video about our family and the Clouds of Hope foundation – thanks to Mark and Sheryl Greenlee.

My Jacksonville family – including my grandparents – were a great help in the preparation and the day of the event as well.

However, with all of these thank yous, I would have to say our biggest thank you goes out to GOD! We felt that He had big plans for this foundation and this event- we shouldn’t be surprised but He came through in a big way. He is so amazing. And after a year and a half of struggling to find purpose in all of this, I can definitely say we can all see how God is using us. Allie’s illness is allowing us the opportunity to reach so many people for Christ. I cannot tell you the number of people who came in and out of the Family Life Center of our church yesterday whom I did not know. How cool is that????

Thanks to all of you- even if I didn’t mention your name – you were all such a blessing to our family yesterday – and every day!

Our next doctor’s appointment is Thursday. I will update then, but before then, Allie has Kindergarten Roundup on Tuesday. Kindergarten…can you believe it???

In His Love,

Renee
